Mark Kennedy

Years as a Kendall player: 15 Minutes and thirty-three seconds in Pope John Paul, Dorchester (pre-season game) back in 2005, a special day.

Best memory on the field: Kicking the ball David Beckham style from the half-way line, not an opponent to the eye that could see - magical (i.e. Hamish Hotshot from Roy of Rovers fame -- destined for top corner)

Worst memory on the field: Left kneecap deciding that Beckham had nothing to worry about after witnessing where the ball was going (i.e. down Route 3), cue the retirement and abuse from team-mates for not passing the ball in the first place :)

Best memory off the field: Involvement with the Kendall FC committee (PRO) and having the chance to manage the Kendall 'C' team during the 2006 season, albeit we did not get promoted -- they were a fantastic bunch of lads who had the patience of a saint with some of my less than stellar training techniques and teamtalks :) The BSSL Cup game between Kendall 'A' and Kendall 'B' back in 2007 was an epic match, the first time both sides had played against each other in competition, it failed to disappoint. The 'A' team won 2-1 thanks in part to the outstanding display of John O'Toole in the goal. The Married vs Singles match game at the Somerville Stadium (2006) was another moment for annals. Maria Kadala officiated -- referee for the ages. Numerous post xmas bash house parties albeit hazy.

Worst memory off the field: Just missing out on promotion with the Kendall 'C' side back in 2007 -- after a rough start, gathered momentum in the last few games before the BSSL break and continued that form in the Fall (i.e. albeit the Analog match when we were down by a goal playing with seven players -- cue the Leyton Orient, club for a fiver rant). Narrowly missed out on promotion on the last weekend of the season.

Favourite Kendall player and why: Tough one but if I had to chose one player out it would have to be John O'Toole -- safe as houses in goal, consistently the top keeper in the BSSL when I was over in Boston. Newport FC's loss was, is and will be Kendall Wanderers FC gain.

Favourite Kendall quote:
Numerous Keith Pyke's gems -- "Xabi.......Alonso" and the infamous AGM quote "through the chair"....
