The game against UBH took place on a late sunny afternoon down in Moatley park, South Boston. The Kendall C team buoyed by an impressive if ultimately fruitless performance against Spartak Framingham were looking to halt a loosing streak of three games and get some much needed points on the board. Unfortunately Kendall got off to the worst possible start by conceding two cheap goals within five minutes of the game starting. The first UBH goal came from a dangerous corner kick which was met by the head of an unmarked UBH player who duly obliged to direct it into the corner of the goal past the outstretched arm of Dean. Within a minute of taking the lead the UBH team were on the attack again using their pace to great affect to get the jump on the Kendall defence. Once the UBH forward in possession entered striking range he fired a low hard drive towards the bottom right corner of Dean's goal. Dean made a desperate effort to reach the ball however the pace was good enough to carry it into the goal. At this stage of events the outlook did not look good for any kind of result.

Remarkably after this awful start the Kendall C team suddenly found their rhythm. It began by exerting some much needed control in defence which allowed the midfield to settle on the ball and play a nice quick passing game. Some great goalscoring opportunities presented themselves as a result of this good play. Alan Sweeney was linking well with Chili up front and had two good changes in quick successive. The first chance hit the crossbar with the UBH keeper stranded and the second inched narrowly wide of the keeper's right post. Continued Kendall C pressure for the remainder of the first half resulted in a series of corner kicks and throw-ins however UBH managed to hold out for the half time whistle owing in no small part to some outstanding saves from their goal keeper.

Kendall C knew they were dominating the game in all aspects except for the most important part, the score line. With this in mind they started the second half strong looking to grab a goal within the first twenty minutes in order to make a game of it. Continuing his fine form from the first half the UBH keeper denied Chili, Danny and a number of the other Kendall C players. A goal was desperately needed and it came midway through the half when Chili latched on to a nice throw ball and slotted it past the onrushing UBH keeper. At this point the game could have gone either way. Sensing this change the UBH players made an effort to up their performance and looked to have sealed the win with a fast break and finish past Dean. This would have been cruel luck on the Kendall C performance however thankfully the linesman's flag was up and the goal did not stand. With time running out Kendall C had a great chance to get a share of the points. Kendall fed a ball into the box across the path of the goal bound Chili. A race ensued between Chili and the UBH keeper with the keeper just getting to the ball first and clearing before colliding with Chili. It was a case of what might have been as from there UBH hung on to claim the 2-1 victory. Although the result didn't go Kendall C's way the team can take a number of positives from the overall performance and will look to bounce back against the same opposition in next week's cup game.
