For the second successive season a Kendall Team would face off against another Kendall team. The previous incarnation had been a full blooded affair and the same was expected of this game with both teams double checking shinguards in the bag before leaving the house. Last years result had favored the natural order of things with the First team victorious. However Kendall C had the personnel to cause an upset and on the pristine new home field in Lancaster a cracking game was anticipated. The seriousness with which Kendall B took this game was indicative in that the Holy Ghost of the Kendall B management Holy Trinity, James Canny, took it upon himself to boss the middle of midfield straying from his usual position on the flank.

Within a few minutes Kendall B's greatest hope and Kendall C's worst nightmare were realized with an early goal. Kenny floated in a free kick from midfield and JK jumped highest to steer the ball into the net. Game on. Not long more would pass before that lead was doubled and Kendall C were really on the ropes. Kendall B pressured the C's defence with crosses into the box that were only half cleared before the ball eventually fell to Kenny on the edge of the box. His cross-cum-shot was clinically finished by a grateful JK a couple of yards from goal.

To the credit of the C's they responded well to this setback. They battled well for possession and up against a very solid defensive performance by Kenny and Andy they hoped for stroke of luck which would eventually come as the ball dropped to Tony just inside the box but his well struck effort whistled by the post. They would rue that missed effort as some sublime trickery from JK in the box ended in his hat-trick. Juggling the ball by a couple of defenders his flicked it over the last mans head and sidefooted home. 3-0 at the half to the B's.

The C's came out fighting in the second half trying to get back in the game and a familiar face would strike against the B team. In time honored tradition the former player came back to haunt his old club. A mix up at the back for the B's gave Mawuli the opportunity to nip in between keeper and center half and tuck the ball away.

A comeback was not on the cards though as B's regained composure and played some nice football with their new recruits in particular impressive. Phil on the right was always dangerous and on the opposite flank Youki was given John Law a torrid time with the Kendall manager struggling to contain the winger half his age. As he let the ball run across his body he under-estimated the alacrity of the B's winger who nipped in to rob the ball before unselfishly squaring for Tyler at the back post scoring his first Kendall goal. 4-1 would be the final score and on the basis of the performances both Kendall teams could be looking forward to promising seasons.
